Display advertising deserved better tools.

Every campaign needs the same idea rebuilt at a dozen sizes, and the work is repetitive without ever being mechanical enough to automate the old way. Bannerbloom exists to take that particular hour back.

A banner ad is a small, strict format. It has to weigh almost nothing, animate for a few seconds and stop, carry a clickTag, and look right at 300×250 and again at 728×90 where there is no vertical room at all. None of that is hard. All of it is fiddly, and it has to be redone every time the copy changes.

The design tools that could make one beautiful banner could not export something an ad network would accept. The tools that could produce compliant files were built for developers and priced for agencies. Most teams ended up somewhere in between, hand editing a template that somebody left behind.

So this is a chat window attached to a real banner runtime. You describe the ad, and it writes the markup and the animation. When the result is 90% right — which is the honest number — you drag the layer, rewrite the line, retime the entrance, and the assistant works around your edits rather than throwing them away. Then it exports the whole set.

What we decided early

Real code, not a picture of code

A generated banner is HTML, CSS and a GSAP timeline you can open and read. Nothing here renders a mockup and calls it an ad — what you preview is the file that ships, running the same player a publisher gets.

Generation gets you most of the way

It does not get you all of the way, and pretending otherwise is how AI tools become toys. So every layer stays draggable, every line of copy stays editable, and the timeline is yours to retime by hand.

Reviewers should not cost money

Most people who touch an ad never edit it — they look at it and say yes or no. Charging for those seats is how collaboration tools end up with one shared login, so viewers here are free and unlimited.

Who is behind it

Bannerbloom is built by Indie Bytes, a small independent studio. It is a young product and it is improving quickly, which means the fastest way to change it is still to tell us what is wrong with it.
